Prayer

At different times in our lives we all find the need and desire to pray but sometimes we cannot find the words. That is OK.  God knows the cry of our heart and understands the words that we would love to say but can’t. However sometimes it is helpful to say something out loud, so below are a few prayers that I hope you find helpful.

God promises that he hears and will answer our prayers so if you feel like a novice then please - just give it a go. Feel free to send us a favourite prayer to add to our selection.

Please join us as we pray for Ukraine at this time, you might like to use the prayer below.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.

Prayer for Coronavirus

We pray for all those who are suffering because of the coronavirus,

may they know your healing power.

When we are afraid for ourselves and our loved ones,

give us your strength and courage.

When we feel alone and isolated,

reassure us with a sense of your presence.

Give wisdom to those in authority and

may our community work together for the good of all.

We give thanks for those who care for others

and ask you to bless them in all they do.

We ask this in the name of Jesus,

healer and physician.

Amen

When someone you know has died

Lord of all love,

be with me today in the stillness

and comfort me as I remember my friend.

Be with me as I look back,

remembering all whom I mourn,

and be with me as I look forward

to the journey that lies ahead.

Give me the strength to talk of hope

and the courage to show love.

In Jesus name.        Amen.

When you have been unable to attend a funeral

Dear God,
Thank you for ___, for all that they meant to me and to others.
I so wanted to say goodbye, to be alongside my friends and family.
Help me to know you are there,
holding all my hopes,
holding all those I Love, especially ___,
and holding me this day.
Be close with your peace and hope.
Amen.
